The Caribbean carnival in Toronto turned deadly Saturday night when a 30-something-year-old man was shot near the Molson Amphitheater.
Details of the shooting are still sketchy, but it is believed that there was an altercation between police officers and a man on Lake Shore Road when the gunfire rang out a little after 7:00 p.m.
Witnesses said hundreds of revelers, still gathered along the carnival route, ran for cover.
Authorities say a 22-year-old woman and an 18-year-old boy were also shot in the melee. They are expected to survive their injuries.
It is unclear whether the deceased is the person who had gotten into the altercation with the officers.
