Star Jones, a former host of ABC’s “The View” had cardiac surgery last Wednesday related to rarely-performed surgery she had three decades ago after developing a thoracic tumor, People magazine is reporting.

In a statement to the magazine Jones’ people said, “On Wednesday, March 17, a pre-planned cardiac surgery was performed on Star Jones.  This recent surgery is a follow-up to the thoracic surgery she had 30 years ago.  The procedure was successful and she is recovering well with her family.  Star is grateful for everyone’s thoughts and prayers.”

The 47-year-old television personality lost 160 lbs after undergoing a gastric bypass surgery in August 2003.

Around 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, a 28-year-old man was killed after he drove his car into the basement of a Long Island home, NY officials confirmed.

Garden City Park police said Jonathan Leiz of Bellmore was killed after he sped his vehicle through a stop sign and landed in the basement of a home belonging to Annette Giudice, who had just celebrated her 72^nd birthday.

A tearful Giudice told a local NY reporter that she was awakened by “an instant bang. After we heard the bang, we ran down, and everything was silent.”

Giudice said she then asked her 48-year-old son Raymond, who lives with her, “What happened?”

Police said Leiz, 28, was killed after his 1997 Infiniti hit the curb when he sped through a stop sign before landing in Giudice’s home.

Passengers Jose Varraos, 23, of Freeport and Alden La-Rocca, 26, of Mineola were both critically injured.

It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.

Building officials found structural damage to Giudice’s home and condemned the building.

It is believed that a Chinese man who suffers from epilepsy killed an eleven-year-old boy and ate his brain in order to cure his illness.

Wang Chaoxu told authorities he killed the boy, Li Xuetang after hearing an old wives’ tale that says eating a child’s brain can cure fits.

Xuetang’s body was found buried in a grain field about three miles away from his home in Yunnan, south west China.

The boy’s mother reported him missing after he failed to return home for dinner after playing outside with friends.

A few hours later, a villager saw Chaoxu kneeling over Xuetang’s body holding him by the neck.

By the time authorities arrived they found the boy, whose head was peeled back and part of his brain had been removed, buried in a nearby grave.

When he was arrested, Chaoxu, who is married to a nurse, told police he believed the old wives’ tale that eating human’s brain with earthworms and ants would cure epilepsy.

It is believed that Chaoxu also ate the brain of a three-year-old girl who was reported missing on the same day.

France’s First Lady Carla Bruni obviously didn’t listened to the wisdom of the wise person who said “be careful what you do with your life when you are young because shit comes back to haunt you when you are older!”

The pictures were taken when Bruni, 43, was a fashion model.

This is the second time that nude or semi-nude photos of Bruni appeared on the auction block.

Two years ago, a naked picture of Bruni went on sale in London just as Bruni and her husband, President Nicolas Sarkozy arrived in England for a full state visit, where they stayed with the Queen and Prince Philip.

In addition to dealing with the provocative and embarrassing picture, the First Lady is also addressing rumors that surfaced last week that she is having an affair with French singer Benjamin Biolay.

A Brazilian TV station aired a video of an elderly Catholic priest having sex with a teenage boy last week.

According to reports, the video, which was aired by the SBT television network, showed the priest, Monsignor Luiz Marques Barbosa, having sex with a 19-year-old boy, whose identity is not being released by authorities.

The video is believed to have been shot by an unidentified 21-year-old man who claims that he too was abused by the 82-year-old priest.

Police in Alagoas state in northeastern Brazil said Thursday that they were investigation the allegations before the TV station aired the video.

In the video, a man who looks like the priest is heard asking, “Who is it?  Who is at the window? Who is it? Who’s there?” after he heard noises coming from the window where the “cameraman” was standing.

Barbosa’s bishop, Valerio Breda has ordered the priest’s removal from the church.

The priest has not yet been charged with a crime.
