
Star Jones, a former host of ABC’s “The View” had cardiac surgery last Wednesday related to rarely-performed surgery she had three decades ago after developing a thoracic tumor, People magazine is reporting.
In a statement to the magazine Jones’ people said, “On Wednesday, March 17, a pre-planned cardiac surgery was performed on Star Jones. This recent surgery is a follow-up to the thoracic surgery she had 30 years ago. The procedure was successful and she is recovering well with her family. Star is grateful for everyone’s thoughts and prayers.”
The 47-year-old television personality lost 160 lbs after undergoing a gastric bypass surgery in August 2003.
