Michael McKean, the actor who played Lenny in the television show “Laverne and Shirley” was struck by a vehicle while walking in New York City Tuesday afternoon.
Witnesses said the 64-year-old actor was at West 86th street and Broadway just before 3:00 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle.
He was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital in critical condition.
The actor’s manager said he suffered a broken leg and a few broken bones.
Three passengers in the vehicle were also taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.
McKean, who is married to actress Annette O’Toole, is currently starring on Broadway in Gore Vidal’s “The Best Man.”
The accident is under investigation.
