A plane from Paris, France, to Charlotte, North Carolina, was forced to divert to Maine after a woman, who appears to be mentally disturbed, told airline staff she had a device implanted in her.
As of press time authorities were investigating the claims on U.S. Airways Flight 787.
Reports say the 11:a.m. (local time) flight from Charles de Gaulle Airport to Charlotte Douglas International was over Nova Scotia, Canada when the female passenger made the announcement.
The aircraft was diverted to Bangor Main, where as of press time, 179 passengers and nine crew members were still on board the Boeing 767 aircraft.
No further details were released.
