Peel Const. Peter Takacs charged with theft

A Canadian police officer has been charged with theft after an internal investigation.

Authorities did not say what Const. Peter Takacs, who had been a member of the Peel police department since 2008, stole, but they said the crime took place on February 9 at the Meadowvale Town Center Community Station.

The stolen property has since been returned.
