Phil Carey aka Asa Buchanan died at the age of 83

Phil Carey, who played Asa Buchanan for the last 28 years on ABC’s “One Life to Live,” died February 6, at the age of 83.

Carey, who was born in Hackensack, NJ, but grew up on Long Island, started his acting career in the early 1950’s. From 1979-2007, Carey played the role of Asa.

He lives behind his wife Colleen Welch and five children.
