A 22-year-old Pennsylvania armored guard is accused of killing his 31-year-old partner before fleeing with more than $2million in cash.
Reports say Kenneth Konias Jr. and his partner, Michael Haines, who both worked for Garda Cash Logistics, had just finished picking up cash from several locations in Pittsburgh when the younger guard shot his partner at point blank range in the back of the head.
Haines body was discovered several hours later in the armored truck, which was found under a bridge in Pittsburg Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities say Konias had planned the entire robbery and had planned to kill anyone who had gotten in his way, including his partner.
It is unclear how Konias got from the abandoned armored vehicle to his Ford Explorer, which was parked in the company’s parking lot.
Detectives later found the suspects bloodied clothing inside his parents’ home in Dravosburg. Konias’ family is cooperating with detectives.
Garda officials are offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to Konias’ arrest.
Konias is believed to still be driving his tan Ford Explorer with Pennsylvania license plate number GZW-4572
