Police charge man over beer run on lawnmower

After Illinois authorities suspended his driver’s license for driving while under the influence, 49-year-old Dennis Cretton decided to use his riding lawnmower to drive to the local gas station to purchase beer.

Last Friday, after neighbors saw him weaving in and out of traffic with his yellow lawnmower, they called police.

When police tried to stop him, authorities said he tried to escape by driving his getaway vehicle into his front yard, spilling his 12-pack onto the ground.

He was released on $10,000 bond.
