Police officer accused of kidnapping another police officer in a domestic dispute

Police officer Jessie Lee Burden Jr. of the East Point, Georgia police department is accused of choking another officer and holding her at gunpoint during a domestic dispute.

Authorities were called to the officer’s resident early this morning where they found a female “who alleged that the male choked her, handcuffed her and held her against her will at gunpoint for approximately two hours,” Fulton County police Detective Melissa Parker said in a statement.

Parker said the unnamed female officer ran to a neighbor’s house where she called 911, and before officers arrived, Burden fled the scene but was located shortly thereafter and taken into police custody.

Burden was charged with aggravated assault, false imprison and battery.

The female officer was not seriously hurt.
