Off-duty Erie, Pennsylvania, police officer, James Cousins II, was caught on camera at a bar mocking an alleged drug dealer, Rondale Jennings Sr., who was murdered.
Cousins, who is currently under investigation while on a paid leave from the department, is caught saying, “One less drug dealer to deal with.”
In the video, which can be seen on YouTube, Cousins is heard saying, “I swear to God it looked like …out of a movie. It was ….perfect.
“Right in the middle of the ….forehead. Right in the ….eye”
He’s ….bleeding. Not really so much from the ….front end. Not really out of the back
“He’s laying on the ground and his ….leg is doing one of these,” Cousins started demonstrating by moving his legs.
“Did you see it? Let me show you again. He’s twitching like a ….chicken.”
Cousins repeated the motions with his legs.
On an interview with CNN this morning when asked what she thought of the video Yvette Jennings, the mother of the dead man, said, “I was shocked–disturbed and distraught, and it was a whole lot more pain than what I was feeling.”

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackWhy not? Don’t doctors, journalists, teachers talk about their jobs/associates after work? Come on people…quit trying to justify and defend these “scum-bags” (drug dealers) that are doing nothing but ruining our society. They get exactly what they deserve!
It seems the only people that this upset was the other drug dealers and their family’s. It was not a racial thing, it was a cop in a bar venting because that is what the average guy does. Mechanics, Doctors, Lawyers, Waitresses, Cooks, Nurses all vent, complain about their jobs. And this poor guy got caught on tape doing at a bar now it is something new? Cops have enough stuff to deal with and now we are taking away their right to complain about it? I think we need to just say what it is and it’s going to be someone looking to sue somebody over a bad situation.
no one should talk so flippantly about someone dying. this officer sounds like a thoughtless, uneducated fool, not to mention totally debase. i would hate to think someone of such character is a police officer at all! it’s so shameful!! let’s look at the requirements for being an officer — high school diplomat and 21 — so go figure! it’s time we have more stringent requirements for people who have such power. people like this officer, who have no morals (note his language & obviously the horrific content of his story) or good judgement, are the ones who can do what they want with people’s lives, etc. It’s sick and sad.
oh, and btw, to bummer1: drug dealers aren’t ruining society. if husbands and wives got along and cared for their children, kids wouldn’t grow up rebelling and turning to drugs for comfort. there would be no need for drugs if people medicated themselves with love and forgiveness instead of turning to drugs for therapy. furthermore, if the government didn’t outlaw certain drugs and give the green light for others (somehow alcohol is better than heroine? please.), there wouldn’t be anyone being killed over drugs. the ‘drug war’ is big business for government, so no one wants it to stop. so don’t blame the drug dealer. if you want to blame someone, blame mom or dad, the government, yourself for supporting the war on drugs. the LAST person you should blame is the drug dealer. he is just doing his job. you wouldn’t feel such hate toward a baker who is killing millions of americans by selling them chocolate doughnuts that clog their arteries, yet you have disgust for someone who is selling people a drug that has the same “happy” effect sugar has on the body. think about it.
i’m not a drug user; i don’t drink or smoke, but i think it’s appalling people get put in jail for using “drugs” when they don’t get put in jail for using alcohol or caffeine or any other kind of drug. americans should get put in jail for being fat. that way, they stop eating and won’t die of cancer or heart disease. when does the control over people’s lives stop?? think about it.
This officer should not be allowed to return to work and for someone else to justify his conduct “becuase he might need to vent’ is bullshit, he was out and out making a joke of someone’s death and it should matter if the person was a drug dealer or not, death is nothing to f…… joke about, i find this crap upsetting and I don’t sell drugs anyone with a conscious should be appalled by some one hired to protect and serve acting like a baffon.
Take his badge and send him on his way. I watched the video. It is disturbing. My parents were both police officers and would never act like this. His big man on campus performance at the bar is bringing his career to an end I think.
This cop makes me physically ill and I’m very VERY glad someone taped him to show what these corrupt individuals are actually like. He needs to be FIRED now!!! If this guy isn’t fired I will lose faith in our police protecting us. This is a disgusting, horrendous act and apparently the whole department is corrupt for having him involved in his own investigation. Erie police department is a city’s SHAME and I’m glad they’re exposed
So references to malt liquor commercials isn’t racist? That just shows the mentality of the some of the people living in that area. I used to live in Erie and Edinboro PA, and let me tell you I was scared to death to be caught in some of those areas. I was afraid I was going to be swinging from somebody’s tree, in the backyard of someone who still flys the confederate flag. So I am not surprised at the officers comments, not at all. Western PA is swarming with racist.

1st thing ig this! mz. sass go back to eating your bon bons and watching Opra the cow while judging others all day and going to church on sunday while judging others and trying to feel your better than everyone else..Because Your Not! 2nd thing is why is it every time the NAACP gets involved in something its always trying to show that all other races are worse than “Colored People” no matter how bad they are or what crime they commit prior to this incident? Also if it was the other way around and it is alot more of the time to where the “Colored People” are the ones in the wrong, why doesnt the NAACP step in then to appologize and protect others? My neighbor has 2 sons and they best friends are “Colored People” They went to a Baptist Church with their friends and was removed from the church and were told not to come back because ” We don’t allow “Caucasians attend our services, this house is for Black Worship Only!” Now thats discusting and appauling! Where were the NAACP when that happened? Oh and BTW..I am not neither Caucasian, nor African American so all you bandwagon jumpers cant say I am predjudice!

The “dealer” was still a person. He still had a family and friends that will mourn his loss. In death he still warreted respect. If you want to mock someone keep it to yourself.
