Police in Florida say the former Hooters’ waitress who was killed while walking to work Monday afternoon had been stalked by her killer, who was a regular customer at the restaurant.
Before she was murdered, police say Alissa Blanton filed a complaint against Roger Troy.
In her complaint, Blanton said when she worked at the Hooters restaurant in Merrill Island, Roger Troy was a “regular customer that came in daily and always sat in my section.” She said Troy kept badgering her for her phone number so she gave him her email address.
She said after her shift, Troy would walk her to her car then hug her, which her manager did not like because customers are “not allowed to touch any of the girls.”
The complaint said Blanton’s manager confronted Troy about hugging her and his response was “he spent so much money there…and he doesn’t deserve to be treated this way.”
After that incident Blanton said Troy stopped sitting in her section, however, he started emailing her about “how terrible I am and all about an ex-boyfriend I was dating.”
Blanton said after she quit her job in September 2008 and moved to Orlando Troy followed her. And, it continued after she got married and moved back to Brevard County.
Police say while Blanton was walking to work last Monday the 61-year-old man shot and killed her in front of an AT&T call center in Research Park near the University of Central Florida.
Police say Troy then turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.
The murder-suicide was witnessed by Blanton’s husband who performed CPR on his dying wife before paramedics arrived.
