Store owner Chamroen Seng said the women came into her store, Seng Couture, in Fanwood and asked to try on some of the most expensive dresses.
Seng said at one point the suspect asked her husband, Sanh Truong, if he could get her three-year-old daughter a slice of pizza and soda while she continue looking at dresses.
After Truong told the woman that his boutique was not a restaurant, the other women blocked Seng while the suspect took a Ysa Makino strapless dress with extensive beading across the chest, and walked out of the store.
CCTV pictures showed the 30-something year old brunette later walking along a street in Fanwood with the $5,000 dress tucked under her arm around 2:00 p.m. on September 28.
Seng, who did not realized the dress had been stolen until five days later, said although she has insurance to cover the loss of the dress, she would like to see the woman prosecuted.
