In a rare White House gathering today, four presidents, President Jimmy Carter, President H.W. Bush, President Bill Clinton, President George W. Bush along with president-elect Barack Obama, met for lunch.
During a photo opt moment in the Oval Office, President-elect Obama told the media, “I just want to thank the President for hosting us. All the gentlemen here understand both the pressures and possibilities of this office. For me to have the opportunity to get advice, good counsel and fellowship with these individuals is extraordinary.”
President-elect Obama and President George W. Bush met privately for half an hour before meeting with the others for lunch.
