How far would you go to raise money for charity?

A 20-year-old Brazilian student is auctioning off her virginity to the highest bidder to raise money to build homes for poverty stricken families.

The auction is part of project by Australian’s film company Thomas Williams Productions.

As of press time Catarina Migliorini had raised $160,000, but not all of the money will go to charity.  The production company will keep 10 percent and Catarina will use some to travel the world.

In an interview with the Sao Paolo newspaper, the physical education student insists she is not a prostitute and still believes in love.

“For me, it’s not prostitution,” Catarina said.  “When someone does something once in his or her life, this is not considered a profession.  If you take a picture and it comes out good, you are not a photographer because of it.”

Catarina’s one-time tryst will be captured on the Australian film “Virgins Wanted,” in which she will receive an additional $20,000 for her appearance on the show.

She did not say how much will go to charity.

The winning bidder will be checked for STDs and he will be required to wear a condom.  The tryst will take place on board a private flight from Australia to the United States.

Catarina signed up to do the project two years ago after seeing an ad for the project.

A male virgin named Alexander, is also participating in the project.  No word on what he plans to do with his money.

The auction ends on October 15.
