Randy Jackson, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Mariah Carey confirmed as judges on Season 12 of American Idol

It’s official, Randy Jackson will stay on as a judge on American Idol.  Also confirmed to be judges are Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban.

Idol host Ryan Seacrest broke the news earlier today on his Twitter account.

“It’s official,” Ryan wrote. “your new #IdolJudges are @MariahCarey, @NickiMinaj, @KeithUrban & @Yo_RandyJackson!”  He also included this picture with the message.

Fox executives had originally demoted Randy to a “mentor” role but after talks failed with Enrique Iglesias they decided to keep him as a judge, which, is a complete insult to Randy, but there is not much else Randy can do and remain in the public eye, and Randy really, really likes the fame he gets from being on the show.

It will be interesting to see the dynamitic between the other judges and Diva Mariah. Can’t wait for season 12.
