Real Housewives of New Jersey Jacqueline Laurita says her youngest son, Nicholas, has Autism

She is one of the nicest reality stars on Bravo, so we were saddened to hear that Jacqueline Laurita’s baby boy is autistic.

In an interview with People magazine, Jacqueline revealed that her 3-year-old son, Nicholas, has Autism.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star told the magazine when Nicholas was around 18 months she noticed his speech and motor skills were lapsing.  She said he stopped answering when he was called by his name and he failed to recognize people  when they walk into a room.

Jacqueline said she and her husband Chris made a conscious decision not to mention her son’s health on their reality show.

Jacqueline has a 21-year-old daughter from a previous marriage and a 10-year-old son with Chris.

As I said before, Jacqueline is one of the nicest people on any of Bravo’s franchises, but it’s too bad she didn’t use her time on TV to share her son’s condition.  There are people who are going through the same things that she and Chris are going through with Nicolas and she could have helped.  Plus, it would have shown a calmer and more serious side to the show.
