Police in Wichita, Kansas, arrested a 21-year-old mother after her 2-year-old son fell out of a moving car.

Authorities said Rebecca Fowler did not know that her son had unbuckled his seatbelt and tumbled out of the vehicle after he was able to open the back door.

The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the 2000 block of West Rita.

Authorities said a man in his yard noticed the boy running down the street with blood running off his face and called 911.

Fowler did not realize that her toddler son was missing until after she arrived home.  She then traced her tracks and found the boy with the Good Samaritan who had called 911.

The boy was taken to Via Christi Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.  He is now in police protective custody.

Fowler was arrested and charged with child endangerment.
