The truth finally comes out!
When Rep. Barney Frank (D-M ass) announced his resignation last year, many were left shocked about his decision, especially since he had spoken about running for re-election a few months prior.
Frank later said he had changed his mind because of the state’s redistricting process which meant he would be running in a new district with constituents who did not know him and vice-versa.
Today, Frank’s office released a statement saying in part “Barney is planning to get married to his long-time partner Jim Ready.”
Frank, who was elected to Congress in 1980, and Ready have not yet set a date for their wedding.
The couple met in 2005 at a fundraising in Maine.
The politician has been public about his sexuality since 1987.
Massachusetts is one of six states that allows same-sex marriages.
Congrats and best of luck to the happy couple!
