The body of a British banker who went missing shortly after losing his job, was found shot in the woods yesterday, officials confirmed.
It is believed that Huibert Boumeester shot himself in the head after losing his $992,000 a year job earlier this month.
The family of the forty-nine year-old father of two became concerned about his well being after he disappeared with one of his registered guns.
The highly respected Dutch financier, who had been on the board of Dutch banking group ABN Amro and a number of other firms, lost his job after his bank became the subject of the disastrous $83 billion takeover by the Royal Bank of Scotland that plunged RBS and its then CEO, Sir Fred Goodwin into crisis.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackThis is so sad. His family must be having a very hard time with this. I have to say-i don’t understand it. I know it would be devastating to lose your job and not know what you’re going to do, but that’s when you work it out. You decide you’re going to figure SOMETHING out and work hard to get it. Unfortunately, this seems like the “easy” way out.
People have to start considering simpler lifestyles, like living in an appartment instead of a house, sharing appartment with someone, no cable, the simplest car possible. If people had a plan of what they would do if they loose everything, like go live with parents for while, people wouldn’t be so scared/depressed about loosing their job. You always have to consider whats the worst thing tha can happen and work out a scenario for the worst case so that way youre covered. and i mean especially loosing a job. Anybody know loosing a job can happen so easily even if you do the best you can. Whats your plan if everything fails. Think about that, that way youll be less stressed if it does happen. Youll know what to do. But commiting suicide is ridiculous.

First may Huibert B, RIP…
Huibert, was my immediate ex-boss during his time in Asia’s region back in late 1990s. After few years I left my job and decided to live/work abroad, I’ve lost contact with his movement. But yes, he said to me one day back in the office.. London would be my new homebased and I will be a multi-millionaire before I reached 45! And he achieved what he dreamt for but I guess like any other bankers I’ve met in my career, he was taking an extremely high-risk.. but he shouldn’t end his life this way!
My heart goes to you Anne B, and your beautiful children..
