A 17-year-old Connecticut high school student was killed in a single vehicle accident early Tuesday morning.
Authorities said Paige Houston, who would have been in her senior years at RHAM High School in September, was in the rear seat of a 2000 Toyota Tundra pickup truck when driver, 17-year-old Connor McKee, lost control of the vehicle on West Street near the intersection with Martin Road around 1:00 a.m. Tuesday.
The vehicle went off the road then returned where it continued to move for about 200 feet. Authorities said it then traveled across the road crashing into a large tree.
Houston, of Hebron, was ejected from the vehicle in the crash.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
McKee, of Hebron, suffered a broken arm and two other passengers, 16-year-old Andrew Burton, of Prentice Hill Road and 18-year-old Zachary Trapp, of Wheeling Road, Andover, suffered minor injuries.
The cause of accident was not known at press time; however, authorities said it is still being investigated.
Grief counselors will be available at Houston’s high school today from 4-7 p.m.
