Richard Leon Goyette arrested for mailing letters with white powder

Forty-seven year old Richard Leon Goyette was arrested at Albuquerque, New Mexico, airport yesterday, and charged with knowingly and intentionally conveying false and misleading information.

Authorities said that Goyette allegedly mailed about 65 threatening letters containing suspicious powder to banks and federal offices around the country.

In some of the letters, Goyette wrote, “It is payback time….you will be dead within 10 days.”

Goyette is scheduled to appear in court today.
