Twenty-eight year old Sahand Mahmoodi was arrested and charged with attempted murder for having unprotected sex with a man and not disclosing he is HIV positive
During a news conference today in Toronto, Constable Brad Stapleton asked anyone in the gay and transgendered communities who had any contact with the gay man to contact Toronto Police Sex Crimes Unit.
Authorities said that Mahmoodi frequented gay chat lines and many establishment in the Wellesley and Church St. communities.
Investigators alleged that Mahmoodi had many partners that he did not disclose his health status with, although he knew that since 2000 he was HIV positive.
