Rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs announced earlier today that he has partnered with Comcast to launch a new music network catering to African-Americans.

Diddy said the network, which is called Revolt, will be a “platform for artists to reach an extraordinary number of people through music videos.”

Revolt, which the rapper said was co-developed by former MTV programming executive Andy Schuon, will be competing with MTV.

The network is expected to launch in 2013.

I am confused, but what’s the difference between this network and BET?

Comcast is also working on developing three other minority-own networks including Aspire, which was developed by Magic Johnson and two catering to the Hispanic market.

I wonder what would happen if a white person held a press conference to announce a new network aimed toward white people….
