Rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs announced earlier today that he has partnered with Comcast to launch a new music network catering to African-Americans.
Diddy said the network, which is called Revolt, will be a “platform for artists to reach an extraordinary number of people through music videos.”
Revolt, which the rapper said was co-developed by former MTV programming executive Andy Schuon, will be competing with MTV.
The network is expected to launch in 2013.
I am confused, but what’s the difference between this network and BET?
Comcast is also working on developing three other minority-own networks including Aspire, which was developed by Magic Johnson and two catering to the Hispanic market.
I wonder what would happen if a white person held a press conference to announce a new network aimed toward white people….
