Season nine American Idol contestant Alex Lambert homeless

Former American Idol contestant Alex Lambert has shocked many of his fans by tweeting he is homeless and has been sleeping on the streets of Los Angeles.

The 20-year-old musician said after season 9 of the hit FOX TV show ended so did his career.

Lambert said when the show ended he had a choice to go back to Texas and end his music career or stay in California and give it a shot.  He said he opted for staying in LA.  And ever since, he has been sleeping behind buildings with eating very little.

Lambert made it to the top 16.
