I always believed in the American dream, I believe that any US citizen could aspire to be whatever they want to be. I believe that America is the land of opportunities for everyone regardless of the color of their skin and religion.  However, I do believe that this journey takes a little longer for non-white Americans.

Last night, when Senator Barack Obama said, “with profound gratitude and great humility I accept your nomination for Presidency of the United States” on the 45th anniversary of Dr.King’s ‘I have a dream’ speech was something I never, thought I would hear in my lifetime.  I knew one day it would happen, but not while I was alive.

Last night was not just about this monumental moment, it was also about who will be the best President for the United States of America, and Obama nailed it.  Obama brought it home when he said, “this election has never been about me, it’s about you”.  Yes, Senator Obama, I agree with you, it is not about how many years one have spent walking the halls of Washington, it is about what you get accomplished while you  walk the halls of Washington.

Senator McCain has served this country with bravery and distinction and for that, I think every American is grateful and respect him for what he went through, but it takes more than this to be a good President.

You said no to higher fuel efficiency cars, no to investments in renewable energy and no to renewable fuels for the last 26 years and today we import triple the amount of oil.

So America, do you want another 8 years of President Bush’s failed policies, after all, Senator McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time, or do you want someone who is going to make a change?
