This morning, convicted felon Ted Stevens gave his farewell speech on the Senate floor.
The former Senator (Can I still use Senator in front of his name? I know I can say former, but can I call him Senator Stevens, you know, like the President for life title) spoke about his 40 years in the Senate and what Alaska was like back then, being relatively new to the nation. He said, “Alaska is a great state…I am proud to have a role in this transformation.”
I must say, last night I felt a little sad for Stevens. CNN showed an old clip of him walking along a corridor, (I assume on the Hill) and he looked like a fragile old man. It did not have to happen this way Mr. Stevens, you could have gone out with your head held high, but you got a little greedy.
