Former Senator, Ted Stevens, is like a bad penny that just will not go away.
Today, attorneys for convicted felon Ted Stevens told federal judge Emmet Sullivan, they would file motion seeking a new trial soon.
Stevens’ latest defense (yes, there are many) is that David Anderson, who testified for the government, said he was coached by prosecutors on his testimony, and that the government unofficially promised immunity for himself, his family and friends if he took the witness stand.
Although attorneys for Stevens have not filed their request yet for the new trial, they are asking for permission to submit a lengthy motion, one that exceeds local court rules on how long such document can be.
How unfortunate, this poor little old man will just not go away.
