Another reality star with a colorful past, whoop-de-doo!!
The online tabloid website Radar Online dug up the criminal record of “Shahs of Sunset” cast member Mercedes “MJ” Javid”, who was arrested for fraud when she was 18.
The site says Mercedes was convicted of one count of bank fraud and she served one month in prison. She was also placed on home confinement for five months, paid $10,000 in restitution and was on probation for three years.
The fraud was committed when Mercedes was a teller at Home Savings Bank in Beverly Hill.
Apparently Mercedes, who had initially denied her involvement in the scam when she was first approached by police, aided four men into depositing funds in excess of $100,000 without filling out the necessary documents required for deposits over $10,000. The site says the Bravo reality star deposited the huge sum of money between four and ten times.
Although Mercedes in a real estate agent today, the site says because the crime she committed involved “moral turpitude,” Mercedes was initially denied her real estate license by the California Department of Real Estate, however, she was later granted a “restricted” license.
As I said before, whoop-de-doo, isn’t this a pre-requisite to be a great reality star?
