Molly Bee, the country singer who sang “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” died this last Saturday from complications following a stroke.

Bee, who shot to fame at the age of 13 with the famous Christmas song, died at the age of 69 at a hospital in Oceanside, California.

At the age of 10, Bee started singing the Hank Williams classic “Lovesick Blues,” on the Rex Allen’s radio show.

In 1954, Bee made her movie debut in “Corral Cuties” opposite Tennessee Ernie Ford, whom she later recorded the duet, “Don’t Go Courtin’ in a Hot Rod Ford.”Due to substance abuse, her career began to fade in the 1960’s.

She made a comeback in the 1970’s playing in small country bars, and slowly rebuilt her audience, releasing two albums in 1975 and 1982.

She leaves behind two daughters, one son, a brother and four grandchildren.
