Doctors in Brazil said a 24-year-old construction worker who had a 6foot metal bar pierced his head this week will make a full recovery.

It took doctors at Miguel Couto Hospital in Rio de Janeiro five hours to remove the iron bar from Eduardo Leite’s head on Wednesday.

Doctors said Leite, who was conscious when he arrived at the hospital, is very lucky.  They said the bar entered a “non-eloquent” area of the brain, an area that doesn’t have a specific major known function.

Leite was wearing a hard hat when the bar fell from the fifth floor of a building that was under construction.  It entered the back of his skull and exited between his eyes.

One lucky man indeed.
