During a rehearsal on “American Idol” earlier today, stage manager Debbie Williams was badly injured when the staircase that host Ryan Seacrest walks down retracted too soon.

According to reports, Williams attempted to hold on to the rails while following Seacrest but missed and fell.

She suffered what is reported to be a “nasty gash” on her leg and was rushed to the hospital.
