A teacher in France was fined $1,450 for biting the cheek of an unruly 4-year-old during a bathroom break.

The fine was over a March 2007 incident when the 48-year-old teacher bit the boy because he had been misbehaving.

The teacher denied the boy’s claims although a medical record showed a bruise on his face.

The woman, who was not named when the fine was handed down on Wednesday in the Normandy town of Lisieux, is still employed as a teacher.
