Texas jury found Gloria Ramirez guilty of endangering her nine children

A mother of nine was convicted in a Texas courtroom this morning of child injury and child endangerment after authorities found a dead fetus in her refrigerator.

After 32 minutes of deliberating, a jury found Gloria Ramirez guilty of the charges that stemmed from a 2007 investigation that led police into the rodent infested home.

Ramirez’s oldest child testified yesterday that her mother threatened her life and that of her siblings if they told anyone about the filthy conditions of the Lubbock, Texas, home.

In addition to finding the fetus and rodents in the home, investigators also found dirty diapers stacked in closets, moldy food and trash covering the flooring.

Ramirez’s husband is set to start trial this month.
