The body of a nineteen-year-old New York girl who disappeared a week ago was found on Wednesday wrapped in bags and hidden in a closet of a vacant apartment, only blocks from her home officials confirmed.
Glendalis Pagan vanished on June 3 after leaving her mother’s apartment for a manicure appointment.
Family members and friends became concerned when Pagan did not return home, they said she would never walk away and leave her son, Andy behind.
Police were called to a vacant unit of a sixth-floor apartment after the odor of Pagan’s decaying body started seeping out of the unit into the rest of the building.
Authorities discovered the decomposing body of the teenage mother shoved in a closet of the vacant unit. The upper part of her body was wrapped in a nylon bag and the lower half in plastic garbage bags.
Friends of the teenager said three years ago, when Pagan was pregnant with Andy, her then-boyfriend beat her in the head with a hammer.
The medical examiner has not determined how Pagan died.
