Could it be that singing competition shows are coming to an end?
The Voice (UK) was forced to cancel auditions after just FIVE people showed up.
Scouts for the BBC1 reality show promoted Saturday’s audition at The Coffee Room Café Bar in Birmingham; however, only five wannabe singers showed up for the event. Out of pure embarrassment, the auditions were canceled and BBC1 canceled all upcoming nationwide auditions due to low ticket sales.
In addition, the show has seen a major drop in ratings. It went from 12.1million viewers in its first series to a measly 5.1million.
An embarrassed BBC tried to save face by saying Saturday’s audition was not an official audition and they had more than five people at the event. They said about SIXTY locals were at the audition.
Coaches on the BBC1 The Voice show are: Tom Jones, Will.I.Am, Danny O’Donoghue and Jessie J.
