Tiffini Green and her husband Kelvin Lovett were arrested in DeKalb County, Georgia, for keeping their 11-year-old daughter out of school for more than one year.

When questioned by authorities as to why her daughter was not registered at a school, she said she took her out because she was homeless, then later changed the story and said she wanted to home school her daughter.

HOW CAN YOU HOME-SCHOOL SOMEONE WHEN YOU CAN’T EVEN SPELL YOUR OWN NAME MS. “TIFFINI”

Solicitor General Robert James said, “This is not about the parents, this is about the child.  It is about intervening in a child’s life and keeping them from becoming a statistic.  80 percent of Georgia’s inmates are drop-outs.”

While the parents are in jail, the 11 year old is being taken care of by an older sister.
