A NFL player who missed training camp last week is said to have committed suicide earlier today.
Tennessee Titans receiver O.J. Murdock was found in his car in front of his former Florida high school around 8:30 a.m. Monday with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
He was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where he later died.
The 25-year-old receiver was missing from the Titans training camp last week and when asked why he was missing, Titans coach Mike Munchak said he was out for “person reasons”.
It’s unclear who found Murdock’s body in his car in front of Middleton High School in Tampa Bay, Florida.
The Titans signed Murdock as an undrafted free agent on July 28, 2011. He suffered a right Achilles injury on the first day of training camp, however, and spent the entire season on injured reserve.
