Police in NYC said two men held up a liquor store in Brooklyn early Wednesday afternoon, taking two people hostages.

The suspects walked into Arrow Wine & Liquor on Avenue N in the Flatlands section of Brooklyn around 1:30 p.m. and ordered the store employee to turn over the cash in the register.

Shots were fires and most of the customers scattered.

Reports say the robbers recently released the hostages unharmed; however, they are still barricaded in the store.

Unverified reports say that one suspect would like to surrender but he is afraid that his accomplice would commit suicide if he does.

As of press time the store was surrounded by police and hostage negotiators.
