On Saturday June 19, the Urban League of Southern Connecticut honored U.S. Senator Christopher Dodd (D) and his wife, Jackie Marie Clegg, at their annual Renaissance Ball at the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich, CT.
More than 250 guests, including many local and national politicians such as U.S Senate hopeful and current Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal; Congressman Jim Himes and his wife Mary; former Congressman Christopher Shays and his wife Betsi; former Stamford mayor and candidate for governor Dan Malloy and businessman and gubernatorial hopeful Ned Lamont.

Valarie Schultz Wilson, CEO of the Urban League of Southern Connecticut, said the decision to honor the outgoing Senator was an easy one because Dodd was “responsible for securing a $300,000 grant from HUD to expand our foreclosure prevention program.”
Wilson said, “We have saved over 200 families from losing their homes the first six months of this year and 25 of those families are from Greenwich.”
