After 26 years of reporting the weather for WTNH-TV in Connecticut, meteorologist Geoff Fox will say goodbye to viewers on February 28 when his contract comes to an end.
The station informed Fox on Wednesday that they were not going to re-new his contract when it comes to an end next month.
During an interview, the veteran meteorologist said “It was a surprise. I was a little bit shaken up, so I asked if I could go home and come back in later for the night news.”
Fox, who will be on vacation next week, said he does not know why he was let go. He said he had a really good run at the station and the “people of Connecticut have been unbelievably nice to me and unbelievable gracious. I will be forever grateful to them.”
The station was not available for comments at press time.
