Authorities in Wisconsin are trying to figure out how a motorist ended up near the top of the Maple-Oregon Bridge across Sturgeon Bay after the arms of the drawbridge were lifted to a 45-degree angle.
The incident happened around 6:00 p.m. last Thursday, however, police did not learn about it until local reporters began calling to confirm the authenticity of some photos they received.
According to Sturgeon Bay police Captain Arleigh Porter, the car was rising “similar to a ride at Great America,” and it wasn’t until the bridge tender noticed the woman that the bridge was lowered and the woman went on her merry way.
Police said the unidentified woman is not in trouble, but they are hoping she would contact them.
