Woman driving hearse to funeral dies inside the vehicle

A 50-something year old California woman driving a hearse to a funeral, died behind the wheel of the vehicle with the casket in the back.

A passerby called 911 after seeing the woman slumped over the steering wheel of the hearse that was parked on Crescent Drive in Beverly Hills near the Beverly Hills Hotel around 3:00 p.m. Monday.

When officers and paramedics arrived the woman, who has not been identified, was already dead.

Authorities said the driver was transporting the casket with a dead person inside to a funeral service.

The cause of death was not immediately known.
